Bob Marley and the Wailers were a legendary Jamaican band whose evolving lineup helped shape ska, rocksteady and reggae music. Originally formed in 1963 with Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, the group worked with influential producers like Leslie Kong and Lee Scratch Perry before gaining international fame. Early albums established their sound, but in 1974 Tosh and Wailer left, leaving Marley to lead a new lineup that included the I-Threes. The band is known for powerful songs like Simmer Down, Trenchtown Rock, Stir It Up and Get Up Stand Up, and for bringing reggae to the world stage. The group disbanded after Marley's death in 1981.
