D'Addario PB052 — Replacement Phosphor Bronze Single String for Acoustic Guitar

The D'Addario PB052 is a single acoustic guitar string in the .052" gauge, wound with phosphor bronze over a steel core. It belongs to the Phosphor Bronze Wound Singles line, pioneered in 1974 and still revered today for its warm, bright, and well-balanced acoustic tone. This string is designed as a replacement for a broken or worn-out low-end string, or for players who want to build a custom gauge set that doesn't match any standard set. The precision-wound phosphor bronze wrap over a hexagonally shaped high-carbon steel core delivers long-lasting tone with excellent intonation.

Who It's For

The PB052 is the right choice for acoustic guitar players who need a replacement low-end string without buying a full new set. It's ideal for players who tune to drop tunings and need a heavier gauge string for the lowest positions, or for those who want to mix and match gauges to create a custom set. The .052" gauge is commonly used as the low E or A string on acoustic guitar, and the warm, bright, well-balanced phosphor bronze tone suits the country, folk, and bluegrass styles favored by D'Addario artists like Chris Stapleton and Bryan Sutton. As a single replacement string from the Phosphor Bronze line, it matches the tone and feel of the rest of the EJ16, EJ17, or EJ26 sets.
