Dion Francis DiMucci, known simply as Dion, is an American singer and songwriter widely recognized for his influential work in rock and roll, blues, and doo-wop. Rising to fame in the late 1950s as the lead singer of Dion and the Belmonts, he later launched a successful solo career, scoring hits like Runaround Sue, The Wanderer, Ruby Baby, and Lovers Who Wander. His style blends elements of pop, R and B, folk, and blues. Dion continued recording through the decades, evolving his sound with more introspective songs such as Abraham Martin and John in the late 1960s. In the 1980s, he released a series of Christian albums, earning a GMA Dove Award, before returning to secular music with the critically acclaimed Yo Frankie. In recent years, Dion has focused on blues, releasing several award-winning albums.
