Edifier R20BT Desktop Speakers — Compact Sound With Bluetooth 6.0 and USB-C Audio

The Edifier R20BT desktop speaker pair delivers clean full-range sound from a footprint small enough for tight desks and monitor stands. A single attached USB-C cable carries both power and digital audio straight from a laptop or PC, while Bluetooth 6.0 covers wireless playback from phones and tablets. Each speaker uses a 2.75" full-range driver housed in an MDF bass-reflex cabinet, so the low end reaches a balanced character without needing a separate subwoofer. The result is tidy, full-bodied desktop audio suited to modern home offices, dorm rooms, and minimal setups.

What Sets the R20BT Apart

Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint connection keeps two devices paired at once, so a laptop running a video call and a phone streaming music can swap sources without re-pairing. A built-in ambient lighting system on the active speaker base adds a touch of visual flavor, with a beat-sync mode that pulses along with the music. Custom sound shaping is handled through either the EDIFIER ConneX mobile app or the EDIFIER TempoHub computer app, both of which expose a 6-band custom EQ on top of the three onboard presets (Classic, Dynamic, Vocal).

Acoustic Performance

A single 2.75" (70 mm) full-range driver in each enclosure covers the entire audible range, paired with a front-firing flared bass-reflex port that tightens low-end response and trims cabinet coloration. The MDF enclosure is denser than typical plastic desktop cabinets, helping the sound stage stay clean at low listening volumes.

• Drivers: Two 2.75" (70 mm) full-range — one driver per enclosure handles highs, mids, and bass.
• The cabinet produces a useful range from 73 Hz – 20 kHz, covering low rumble and high articulation across a single driver.
• Signal-to-Noise Ratio: ≥ 85 dB (A) — clean playback between quiet and loud passages.

Connectivity and Power

Single-cable USB-C is the standout feature: plugging into a computer carries both power and digital audio through the same lead. Wireless streams use Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint, a 3.5 mm AUX input covers older sources, and the front 4-pole 3.5 mm headphone jack accepts headphones with or without a microphone.

• Audio Inputs: Bluetooth, USB-C, 3.5 mm AUX
• Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint pairing connects two devices at once and swaps source seamlessly when needed.
• Headphone Jack: 3.5 mm 4-pole (mic supported)

Controls, Apps, and Form Factor

A touch panel on the base of the active speaker handles power, volume, and lighting, while the EDIFIER ConneX mobile app and EDIFIER TempoHub computer app expose sound-effect switching, light-effect customization, and channel swap. Cables are real-world length: a 1.8 m interconnect between the two speakers and a 1.5 m USB-C lead allow flexible placement on wider desks.

• Total Output Power (RMS): 2.5 W + 2.5 W (5 W total)
• At 83 mm × 177.2 mm × 121.1 mm per speaker, each enclosure sits comfortably beside a 24" monitor or laptop dock without crowding the desk.
• Net Weight (pair): 1.40 kg
• Supported Codec: SBC

Who Is the R20BT For?

R20BT is the right choice for home-office workers, students, and casual listeners who want clean desktop audio without a tangle of cables or a bulky speaker stack. Bluetooth 6.0 multipoint suits anyone juggling a work call on a laptop and music from a phone, while the single USB-C audio path keeps cable count low for notebook users. Anyone who likes a bit of atmosphere in their workspace can switch on the ambient lighting with beat-sync, and listeners wanting finer control will find the 6-band custom EQ and three preset modes inside the EDIFIER apps.
