The classic single-ended triode

The 300B is the tube at the heart of single-ended triode amplifiers, a design valued for the directness of a single power tube driving the output transformer with no push-pull stage in between. Electro-Harmonix follows the original Western Electric pattern closely: the eight-course directly heated filament, the large-shoulder glass envelope and 40 W plate dissipation are all carried over.

Built to last

In a 300B amplifier the output tube is the amplifier's character and its most expensive consumable, so lifespan matters as much as tone. Electro-Harmonix builds this one for ultra-long life with high-quality construction and improved performance over the plain 300B pattern.

Before you fit it

This is a directly heated power triode and it sits in the output stage, so it must be fitted and biased according to the amplifier's specification. Replace output tubes as a set rather than one at a time. This item is a single tube.
