I don't know of any drawbacks. It's a guitar case and I think it works perfectly for what it was intended for. The interior space for small items for the guitar is a little smaller and doesn't fit completely, so it's easy to open and the contents (small items like picks, etc.) spill out. The case comes with 2 keys to lock the instrument.
