Sela Kenyan Ion Cajon-Accessories
The Kenyan íon is an interchangeable drum head designed for your Iconic Cajon, drawing inspiration from the ‘Mshondo’ drum. The Mshondo is a tall, slender drum played by the Giriama tribe in Kenya, renowned for its beautiful, round sound.
Our interpretation of this tribal drum is crafted from untreated goatskin, carefully selected to produce a lower frequency response. This choice of material and construction allows the Kenyan íon to deliver deep, resonant tones that evoke the spirit of the Mshondo.
The Kenyan íon provides a striking contrast to the other íons in our range, offering a unique sonic palette for your Iconic Cajon. This contrast allows for the creation of very satisfying counterpoints when playing, adding depth and complexity to your performances. It beautifully complements both the main cajón sound and the other íons.
In terms of both its aesthetic appeal and its distinctive sound, the Kenyan íon is a must-have addition to any percussionist's collection. Its ability to produce rich, low-frequency tones makes it an invaluable tool for exploring diverse musical styles and creating captivating rhythms.
