Technics direct drive has been providing precise, maintenance-free rotation for decades. This mechanism, which directly rotates the platter with high torque, has been refined to offer even greater precision thanks to a coreless motor that eliminates the block effect.

Precision engineered by technology

Tonearm
While minimizing the size of the tonearm base, the design retains the traditional S-shape, and thanks to micron-precision construction, high tracking quality is guaranteed.
Cartridge
Includes an Audio-Technica AT-VM95C phono cartridge with a tapered stylus for clear sound. The built-in phono equalizer ensures optimal performance.
Platter
Sturdy rotation and precise torque control are achieved thanks to a 1.26 kg cast aluminum platter with reinforced ribs and a directly mounted motor magnet.
Isolator
Newly tuned isolators enable excellent vibration resistance and reduced howling noise. The rubber hardness is optimized to push resonance beyond the audible range.

Intelligence behind the rotation

Digital control
Digital control takes rotation accuracy to the highest level through (1) precise speed detection, (2) calibration of individual units during manufacturing, and (3) digitally optimized motor drive signals.
Circuit layout
Separate printed circuit boards (PCBs) for power, motor control, and PHONO equalizer are located away from the tonearm with cross-over connections. This minimizes sound distortion.
PHONO Circuit
The built-in MM phono equalizer, optimally tuned to the cartridge, delivers clear sound with minimal noise, while the premium components and housing enhance the experience.
