Blue Mitchell

Richard Allen "Blue" Mitchell was an influential American trumpeter and composer, active from the 1950s through the 1970s. Known for his work across jazz, rhythm and blues, soul, rock, and funk, he recorded as both a leader and sideman for labels like Riverside, Mainstream Records, and Blue Note. Mitchell is particularly recognized for his extensive recordings with jazz organists, making him the most recorded trumpeter in that genre.
