Focusrite Clarett OCTOPRE is an 8-channel microphone preamplifier and AD / DA converter with ADAT digital interface. Clarett's leading preamplifiers operate at 24 bit / 192 kHz and offer a dynamic range of up to 118 dB. AIR technology, which adds airiness and clarity to recordings, emulates the impedance and resonance characteristics of the legendary Focusrite ISA analogue studio preamplifier. Two analog inputs located on the front panel are capable of processing both microphone and direct instrument (Hi-Z) signals.

The transmitter has eight analog inputs with combined XLR / TRS connectors. Each input channel is equipped with insertion points for connecting external processors. The signal can be routed to eight digital (ADAT optical interface) or eight analog (25-pin D-sub) outputs. The signal strength is indicated by the color LEDs on the clear panel. Communication with other studio devices is provided by the BNC synchronization terminal for WordClock. Included is a software package including Red Plug-in Suite (Focusrite), Time and Tone Bundle (Softube), Plug-in Collective (Focusrite).
