Harakiri for the Sky is an Austrian post-black metal band founded in 2011 by vocalist JJ and multi-instrumentalist Matthias Sollak. Known for blending atmospheric intensity with melodic elements, they have released six acclaimed albums through AOP Records, including their self-titled debut and the upcoming Scorched Earth. The band has collaborated with notable acts like Heretoir, Alcest, and Austere, and has performed alongside groups such as Der Weg einer Freiheit and The Great Old Ones. Their live lineup features bassist Thomas Dornig, drummer Mischa Bruemmer, and guitarist Marrok. In 2017, Harakiri for the Sky was nominated for the Hard and Heavy category at the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards.
