Lordi is a Finnish rock band formed in 1992 by Mr Lordi, who leads the group as singer, songwriter, and costume designer. The band is famous for their monster-themed masks, horror-inspired stage shows, and explosive pyrotechnics. They gained widespread attention in 2002 with the single Would You Love a Monsterman and achieved international fame by winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 with Hard Rock Hallelujah. Known for changing their elaborate costumes with each album, Lordi has experienced several line-up changes, with Mr Lordi remaining the only original member. The group is also recognized for maintaining their masked identities in public.
