Peaches

Merrill Nisker, known as Peaches, is a Canadian electroclash musician and producer born in Ontario in 1966. Starting out in the 1990s with the folk trio Mermaid Cafe, she later formed the rock band the Shit and released her solo debut, Fancypants Hoodlum, in 1995. After moving to Berlin, Peaches released The Teaches of Peaches in 2000 and gained a wider audience touring with acts like Marilyn Manson and Queens of the Stone Age. Her follow-up album, Fatherfucker, came out in 2003. Peaches’ provocative and genre-blending music has been featured in films such as Mean Girls and Lost in Translation and on TV shows including The L Word, South Park, and The Handmaid’s Tale. She is known for her bold stage presence, outspoken feminist voice, and influence as a queer icon, as well as collaborations with artists like Pink, Christina Aguilera, and Major Lazer.
