Unlike noise ''gates'' that chop off the end of the notes, or ruin the sustain, this pedal is actually a form of single-ended noise reduction that tracks the signal all the way and pushes the noise floor down below the point where the ear can hear the noise. The Threshold knob can be simply used to smooth out the signal. For maximum noise reduction results, place the pedal after the distortion and modulation effects (chorus, flanger, phaser, etc.) but before any delay or reverb effects. The footswitch on the pedal controls On/Off status as shown by the LED indicator. This unit features a rugged metal slim form factor chassis and runs on a 9V alkaline battery, or may also be powered by Rocktron’s DC OnTap Universal Power Supply adaptor.
