Television was a rock band from New York City, formed in 1973, featuring Tom Verlaine, Richard Lloyd, Billy Ficca, and Fred Smith. As key figures in the 1970s CBGB scene, they played a major role in shaping punk and alternative rock. Known for their clean, improvisational style influenced by jazz and 1960s rock, their debut album Marquee Moon is widely regarded as a classic of the punk era.
